7710: Pregnancy in Osteogenesis Imperfecta - Part 2: Complications in pregnancy and postpartum

Purpose

To classify and describe rates of cesarean section, hemorrhage(bleeding), and fracture in women with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) in pregnancy.

About the Study

  1. The study will survey women 18 years of age and older, diagnosed with OI either clinically or genetically and request medical records regarding their pregnancy, delivery, and fracture history. 
  2. The study will aim to survey 250 women with OI who have delivered an infant of at least 20 weeks gestation (5 months of pregnancy). The survey will include questions regarding the participants pregnancy, labor and delivery, and fracture history. 
  3. Participants will be asked to sign a consent form prior to completing the online survey. 
  4. Participants will be asked to sign a release of medical records form. 5. The signed release of records form will be used to obtain the medical records from the institution where the participant received medical care during pregnancy, delivery, and post-partum.
